Alan Fluckiger - President |
Alan Fluckiger has been teaching history, civics, economics, writing, and music classes for the past 16 years. He and his wife Diane are the founders of American Heritage Academy and Ensign Education Company. They have eight children, all of whom have been home schooled. The first five have graduated from American Heritage Academy and have gone on to missions, college, and three are now married with families. They have 11 grandchildren. Alan’s specialty is Austrian Economics and the philosophy of liberty in history. He is also a Certified Financial Planner and private pilot. |

Lori Wilson - Math Instructor |
Lori Wilson has taught and tutored math for 12 years. She has been teaching on-line for the past three years for Ensign Education and American Heritage Academy. She graduated Magna cum Laude in Mathematics Education from Utah State University in 1996 and has also taught middle school math classes in public schools. She is the mother of three children and teaches elementary math classes online for Ensign Education. |

Mike Lord - Math Instructor |
Mike Lord has been teaching high school mathematics for American Heritage Academy and Ensign Education online for the past three years. He and his wife Debbie are the parents of six children. He runs his own business and has also taught in public schools and community colleges. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University. Mike lives in and teaches from Orem, Utah. Mike teaches our Saxon high school algebra classes. |
Karen Marie Whiting is a blue ribbon winner for canned and baked foods lives in southern Idaho. Growing up on a farm meant learning a variety of skills to help make the family and farm self-sufficient. A BYU graduate, Sister Whiting realized early that teaching was most enjoyable centered on application and not just accumulation of knowledge. She helps students to link faith and learning so that applying gospel doctrine and academic fundamentals becomes a natural part of everyday life. She has been married to her husband, Bud, for forty-one years. They have nine children (all except eight are girls!), nine children-in-law, and 29 grandchildren. Karen Marie teaches enrichment cooking and nutrition. |

Docena Holm - Language Arts Instructor |
Docena Holm relives her memories and fantasies from her childhood and teenage years by creating stories for children. She also creates meals and job charts for her five children and husband. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University. In addition to being a mother, baking, and creating job charts, Docena loves to read. As a writer, she is a regular contributor to Treasure Valley Familly Magazine and Treasure Valley Teen. One of her children's stories appeared in The Friend, November 2005. She currently serves with the Young Women in her ward in Idaho.

Kelly Gehret Jr. has been married to his wife Regan for 15 years and they have three children ages 14, 9 and 5. He lives in Pocatello, Idaho where he teaches at Idaho State University and attends graduate school. Kelly holds a masters degree in biology and teaches human anatomy. He served a mission in St. Louis, MO and currently works with the Young Men in his ward. Kelly teaches our Apologia biology and elementary botany classes. |

Jacob Fluckiger lives with his wife and daughter in Murray, Utah where he attends graduate school at the University of Utah. He holds a degree in physics from Brigham Young University and teaches our Apologia Physics class. |

Rebecca Harris - Business/Tech Instructor |
Rebecca Harris has been teaching Business/Technology Computer skills classes for over ten years for American Heritage Academy. She is the mother of nine children and lives in Burley, Idaho. She attended Brigham Young University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Speech and Interpersonal Communications and a minor in music in 1980 and a Masters in Educational Administration in1981. Rebecca’s main focus has always been her family; however, she has enjoyed teaching on the side. Rebecca has taught College Speech classes, Introduction to Computers, Private Voice lessons, High School Math, Computer Scrapbooking, and a multitude of various enrichment classes. Rebecca enjoys the teaching and learning process and is happy to join the Ensign Education staff. |
