Saxon Algebra 2Prerequisites: Saxon Algebra 1 or equivalent placement test Required Text: Saxon Algebra 2, 3rd Edition, text only Credits: 1 Sessions per Week: Four sessions per week comprised of three 30 minute sessions with teacher and one test day. Tuition: $60 Course Description: Algebra 2 covers all topics that are traditionally covered in second-year algebra as well as a considerable amount of geometry. In fact, students completing Algebra 2 will have studied the equivalent of one semester of informal geometry. Time is spent developing geometric concepts and writing proof outlines. Real-world problems are included along with applications to other subjects such as physics and chemistry. Students complete 5 lessons per week, correct their own homework and submit tests for grading. 75% of grade is test scores and 25% is homework scores. |
